SEMINAR: by Joanne Latimer
This class will provide practical strategies to help actors create the physical life of a non-human character. Using some basic choices about the creature as a starting point, actors will come away with tools for building a fully developed monster with its own unique body language.
Founder/Producer of NightShift Theatre in Toronto, Joanne Latimer is a director, actor, writer, and teacher, and a member of both Canadian Actors’ Equity and ACTRA. She has collaborated on several productions as a dramaturge/director, and has numerous theatre, film, television and commercial acting credits. Joanne directed and produced NightShift’s inaugural production, George F. Walker’s Problem Child; created, produced and performed her solo show Washed Up (Toronto Fringe Festival); wrote, produced and directed Snap! (Short Short Play Festival); and has been Associate Artistic Producer for the Soulo Festival. She has been working with young actors for over 20 years as a teacher, director and coach.
